This week has been hands
down the CRAZIEST week of my mission! Sunday, Monday ,and Tuesday were
not too bad because it was all preparing travel and everything for the
transfer, Wednesday is when the real crazy stuff began.
It started in the mid afternoon when we went to pick up all
the "greenies" from the airport. There were so many coming in that we
had to rent 3 extra vans. Their flight ended up being late, and they
lost some bags (later found out they lost 18 bags, which is the most
they have ever lost) so they came out about 3 hours late and the van
drivers were super upset. haha So then we were super far behind
schedule and we had to drop them off at the office to do paperwork while
we moved all their bags to the villa (mission home).
So we ate dinner together then had a really quick orientation,
then we had to take everyone who lost a bag out to the airport at about
10 p.m. Ended up leaving the airport and getting home around 1 a.m.
We then had to wake up at 5 to start transporting people all over Rome
to go to their new cities, and spent a large amount of the day doing
that, and of course dealing with everyones problems! haha
We also had 6 missionaries who were heading to Sardegna that
had to hang out until their flight on Saturday. So Thursday night was
fun because we got to hang out with all the dying missionaries at the
villa for a while, but then had to go do other stuff until about 10ish.
And the dying missionaries dont ever want to sleep they just want to
stay up and party so we got to bed pretty late and on Friday morning we
had to wake up at 4 a.m. to take them all to the airport. When we got
back from that trip we found stuff for the Sardegna missionaries to do,
then a missionary in our house got the chicken pox and so we have had to
leave someone in the house with him at all times so I took care of him
for the evening and also got alot of cleaning done because the nights we
slept at the villa there were about 15 missionaries staying at our
house, so it needed it!
Saturday morning we left the house in what we thought was
plenty of time to catch the 11 a.m. flight, we got to the check in
counter at about 9 and the lady informed us that the tickets the
president had bought were for 9:20!! So they missed it....... So we
bought tickets for the one at 4 that day! We came back to Rome and did
some things and got out to the airport at 2..... plenty of time right?
Wrong. haha The lines were CRAZY and really long story short, by the
time we got their baggage checked and through security we were telling
them to sprint and praying as hard as we could to help them make that
flight! And....... they made it! Then that day when they delivered the
rest of our baggage to the office, they left an extra piece..... so we
tried returning it to the airline because it was not ours. And another
really long story short, it took about 2 hours for them to take it back,
I talked to everyone and nobody would take it!! To say the least it
was a super exciting day!!
And that everning the Anziano with chicken pox had to go to
the hospital, so his companion went with him and so we stayed up
expecting a call to come and pick him up. That call came at 4 a.m. this
morning! So went ran to the hospital to pick him up and this week is
finally over! But it has been a super fun week and it has flown by
suprisingly. Another crazy amount of tourists in church today, and one
was half italian and was here to run for Italy's national track team! I
hope everything is super good with everyone and i love ya'll a lot!!!
